Panasonic VIERA TC-P50G10

Panasonic VIERA TC-P50G10

The new Panasonic TC-P50G10 is a bit of a limited TV as compared to others of this price. The main point of limitation is in the calibration controls unit. There are no options available for white balance adjustments and you cannot make these adjustments without entering the service menu manually. The settings for THX setting that are offered in this plasma TV are not much different from the D65 target, however, the brightness is said to be very low for a plasma of this caliber.

The major draw back of this plasma TV Viera Tc-P50g10 is that the THX settings cannot be changed or adjusted, as they are not adjustable. That also means that a user cannot customize the picture settings to their own taste. The addition of this option could have easily been integrated as it being offered in all product lines. This plasma TV was tested for different levels and setting of resolution and up conversion. The plasma TV underwent the 480i resolution test and a test to check its up conversion and processing chips. The processing chips suggest that the picture quality would be significantly pleasing when linked up to the normal digital cable or satellite signals.

The quality of picture in the 480i mode is not that bad and has only a slight amount of graininess as well as a soft touch to the image. This TV offers the options and picture quality in color renditions. The rendition is clearly on a subdued side and gives a more realistic view. The shadow of darker colors has an excellent detail to it; however, the levels of black lack a certain punch and depth quality. On a 480i signal input, it is noted that blacks often seems like darker grays.

It is clearly seen that the chips for processing used in all Panasonic TV sets have been high and superb in quality for as long as time can remember. However this company is yet to develop a better than just “good” processing chip. Panasonic has stagnated in the “good” level for far too long, and this is persistent in all of their product line. The major set back of this problem comes in the color coordination and rendition of these systems, like mentioned white balance is not possible and blacks seem to lack major qualities. This has its effects on some other colors as well depending upon the quality of the picture being viewed.

Contrasts and sound levels are what were tested last in this machine and it proved to give a good picture and sound experience. There is no problems with clarity or sound vibrations and the image does not begin to jump or shiver at high volumes. The bass on the TV set is very good and all voice/ sound can be heard and understood clearly. The TV set offers a wide range of settings and features for sound and noise reductions.
Overall, this TV set has had a good market review even with its significant drawbacks the TV is selling a lot and has a market ranking of 5 on 5. Consumers are buying this item based on the reliability of the Company name in general.
